#317: Maruchan Yakisoba Cheddar Cheese Flavor Home Style Japanese Noodles

These are some noodles my son Andy got from his Grandpa Gary from California! Andy was kind enough to allow me a bite so I could review them in exchange for preparing them for him.

Here’s some instructions!

This packet was really big and the only one included.

I’m gonig to say that this was about 4 tablespoons of safety orange powder.

So a cup of water and 4 minutes in the microwave and this is what you get. Really good stuff – much like Nissin’s Chow Pasta line; in fact identical. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

  1. I finally decided to try this, it’s not bad, not hugely cheesy though, I found the flavor pretty similar to Kraft Easy Mac though it was a bit better than that is, I think I added a tiny bit too much water though after trying to make sure there was enough. The noodles cooked up perfectly, and added some deli ham for flavor and protein. Pretty good stuff. Also a pretty good portion of food. Going to try the Spicy Chicken next seems a good instant noodle product overall.

That sounds decent – I dig though – it’s all about the right amount of water in these trays. Maybe next time let it sit a little in the microwave – might suck up more liquid. Also, you can add as much water as you want and then use a strainer, then add the cheese stuff – that works really well.

  2. I, too, thought that Maruchan’s Yakisoba Cheddar Cheese flavor wasn’t bad. I even made a YouTube video to highlight the (excessive, in my humble opinion) ingredient list. I added a little bit of a humorous spin to it. Anyway, you should check it out. If you like it, feel free to leave a comment, or shoot me an email, tweet it, whatever. Cool site, as a foodie (and someone who lives on a budget), I’ll definitely be back.
